iPhone Email Tutorial

  1. On the iPhone, tap the Settings icon:

  2. Select 'Mail, Contacts, Calendars', then click 'Add Account...':

  3. Select 'Other', then tap 'Add Mail Account':

  4. Fill in the following fields using the account information provided, for example:

    • Name: John Smith
    • Address: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
    • Password: ********
    • Description: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

  5. Then tap 'Save'

  6. The iPhone will then verify the settings before displaying the next screen:

  7. Fill in the remaining fields using the account information provided, for example:

    • Make sure IMAP is selected at the top of the screen and not POP

    • Incoming Mail Server
      • Host Name: mail.mydomain.co.uk
      • User Name: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

    • Outgoing Mail Server
      • Host Name: mail.mydomain.co.uk
      • User Name: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
      • Password: ********

  8. Tap 'Save'. The iPhone will display a prompt stating 'Cannot Connect Using SSL', tap 'Yes' to try and connect without SSL:

  9. Your iPhone is now setup to send and receive emails from your account:
